Summerwood Backyards LLC (“Summerwood Backyards,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) designs and builds outdoor living spaces for homeowners across the Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas area. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect through this website, how it's used, and the choices you have. It applies to this website (summerwoodbackyards.com) only.
We keep this policy simple because our website itself is simple: we don't have user accounts, we don't sell anything online, and we don't run ads or tracking software on this site. The sections below describe exactly what does happen.
Information You Give Us
The only place this website collects personal information is the consultation request form (available at /book-consultation and linked from our Contact page). If you fill it out, you may provide:
- Your first and last name
- Your phone number
- Your email address
- Your project address and/or city (optional — only if you choose to share it)
- The type of project you're interested in, estimated budget, and desired timeline (optional fields)
- A description of your project, in your own words
- Your preferred way to be contacted (phone, text, or email)
- Your consent to be contacted about your inquiry (see “Contact Consent” below)
We also automatically attach the date and time of your submission and note that it came from our website's consultation form, so we know where a request originated.
We do not ask for or collect payment information, government ID numbers, or any other sensitive personal information through this site.
How Your Information Actually Reaches Us
This is worth explaining clearly: when you submit the consultation form, your own device opens a pre-filled email — addressed to us, with your form answers already written into it — in your own email app. We do not receive anything unless you (or your device) actually send that email. Our website does not save your information to a database, and we do not have a server that stores form submissions. If your device doesn't have a default email app configured, the form shows you the same message as text so you can copy it and send it yourself.
In short: filling out the form does not silently transmit your data to us — an actual email has to go out, from your device, to reach us.
How We Use Your Information
If we receive your consultation request, we use the information you provided to:
- Respond to your inquiry and discuss your project
- Reach out by phone, text, or email, according to your stated preference and consent
- Schedule and prepare for consultations or estimates
- Keep basic records of the projects we've been asked to quote
We do not use your information for automated marketing campaigns, and we do not currently send newsletters or promotional email blasts. If that ever changes, we'll update this policy and give you a clear way to opt in or out.
Contact Consent (Phone, Text & Email)
The consultation form asks you to check a box consenting to be contacted about your inquiry by phone, text, or email, and it notes that standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply if we text you. In practice, any calls or texts you receive from us are sent directly by our team about your specific project inquiry — not from an automated marketing platform.
You can opt out at any time by:
- Replying “STOP” to any text message from us,
- Telling us during a call that you'd prefer not to be contacted that way, or
- Emailing or calling us (contact details below) and asking us to stop.
If you have an active project with us, we may still need to contact you about that project even after you opt out of general marketing-style outreach, since that communication is necessary to complete the work you've hired us for.
Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertising networks. We only share information with:
- Service providers who help us run our business (for example, our email provider), who are only permitted to use it to help us communicate with you
- Law enforcement or regulators, if we're legally required to
Cookies & Website Tracking
As of the date above, this website does not use cookies, analytics software, advertising pixels, or any third-party tracking scripts. We don't track your browsing activity on this site or across other websites.
Our website hosting provider may automatically log basic technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) as a routine part of operating and securing any website — this is standard for essentially all web hosting and isn't used by us for tracking, profiling, or marketing.
If we ever add analytics or tracking tools in the future, we'll update this policy first and, where required, provide a way to opt out.
Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us. That said, please keep in mind that our consultation form works by generating an email through your own device and email account — so the security of that message depends in part on your own email provider, just like any other email you send. We recommend not including highly sensitive information (like financial account numbers) in the project description field.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep the information from your consultation request for as long as reasonably needed to respond to your inquiry, complete any project you hire us for, and maintain basic business records afterward. We don't keep it indefinitely for inquiries that don't turn into a project. If you'd like us to delete information we have about you, contact us and we'll honor that request unless we have a legitimate business or legal reason to keep it.
Children's Privacy
Our services are for homeowners and this website is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we'll remove it.
Your Choices
You can:
- Ask us what information we have about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Ask us to delete your information
- Opt out of future contact from us at any time
To do any of these, just reach out using the contact details below — no formal process required.
Changes to This Policy
If we change how we collect or use information — for example, if we add analytics, online booking with server-side storage, or email marketing — we'll update this page and change the “Last updated” date above.
